If you have suffered trauma due to war, an accident, illness, abuse, or anything else, I am quite certain your trauma details will be different from mine, yet many of our symptoms may be surprisingly similar. For 18 years of my life, I dealt with harm daily. I suffered over 40 years with a substantial assortment of trauma-related manifestations. I had no understanding of what was wrong with me, since most of my pain was lost in a fog of forgetfulness. I personally suffered from the following disorders:Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder which for me included flashbacks, trauma triggers, body memories, nightmares/night terrors, frightening thoughts, avoidance of thoughts and feelings related to the trauma, easily startled, feeling tense or on edge, difficulty sleeping, memory problems, negative thoughts about myself or the world, distorted feelings like guilt or blameSocial Anxiety DisorderGeneralized Anxiety DisorderMajor DepressionSuicidal thoughtsMultiple Personality Disorder (MPD)Panic attacksAnorexiaDepersonalization/derealizationAgoraphobiaEssential tremorEndometriosisAddiction to a doctor-prescribed drugI suffered from 77 of the 99 after-effects of sexual abuseFibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue SyndromeFood and environmental allergies The devastation of the above problems began when I was a child and lasted until I was in my mid-40s. I know my story sounds bleak thus far but don’t be discouraged. Peace, laughter, joy, and happiness eventually came my way.My personal traumas came from three different long-term sources. Incest was the first form of trauma which resulted from two family members. The second area of harm to me was due to faulty care and nurturing from a mentally ill parent. Lastly, bullying occurred at school during my formative years and affected me greatly. All three areas of a 1. Language: English. Narrator: Marilyn Elaine Lundberg. Marilyn Elaine Lundberg’s true crime memoir, Jagger’s Eyes, is a brutally honest account of how one unfortunate little girl turned to animals for love, safety, and comfort. The trauma of incest and neglect occurred behind closed doors in her Christian home and crippled her psychologically as a child. Her attacks produced PTSD, suicidal depression, chronic anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, anorexia, plus more, and she was housebound for many years as an adult. People terrified this young child, but animals broke through her high protective walls and intervened in Marilyn’s recovery. Lost and hungry creatures appeared magically in her backyard or through open windows. There was something miraculous about the eyes of furry critters, they radiated an intense healing force that helped to reconstruct her broken heart. She welcomed loving animals because they were silent and never pointed out that she was odd and flawed. They all loved her unconditionally, just the way she was. Spiritual restoration came to her through the animal kingdom and one compassionate psychologist. This uplifting book about a wounded child’s recovery will touch your heart, and needs to be your next listen! 1. Language: English. Narrator: Marilyn Elaine Lundberg. From the best-selling author of The Chronicles of St Mary's. The Nothing Girl has grown up.... It's life as usual at Frogmorton Farm - which is to say that events have passed the merely eccentric and are now galloping headlong towards the completely bizarre. Once again Jenny struggles to stay afloat in the stormy seas of matrimony with her husband, Russell Checkland, together with an unlikely mix of Patagonian Attack Chickens, Jack the Sad Donkey and Mrs Crisp's mysterious boyfriend. The old favourites are still around, of course. There's Marilyn the Omnivorous Donkey, Russell's ex-girlfriend Don't Call Me Franny and the neurotic Boxer, currently failing to deal with butterfly trauma. So nothing much is new...except for the mysterious figure dogging Jenny's steps and who, if she didn't know better, she would swear was her sinister cousin Christopher, last seen being hurled from the house by her wayward husband. He couldn't possibly be stupid enough to come back and try again...could he? 1. Language: English. Narrator: Lucy Price-Lewis. A wildly inventive new collection of stories by Joyce Carol Oates that charts the surprising ways in which the world we think we know can unexpectedly reveal its darker contours.... The New York Times has hailed Joyce Carol Oates as "a dangerous writer in the best sense of the word, one who takes risks almost obsessively with energy and relish."Black Dahlia & White Rose, a collection of 11 previously uncollected stories, showcases the keen rewards of Oates's relentless brio and invention. In one beautifully honed story after another, Oates explores the menace that lurks at the edges of and intrudes upon even the seemingly safest of lives - and maps with rare emotional acuity the transformational cost of such intrusions. Unafraid to venture into no-man's-lands both real and surreal, Oates takes readers deep into dangerous territory, from a maximum-security prison - vividly delineating the heartbreaking and unexpected atmosphere of such an institution - to the inner landscapes of two beautiful and mysteriously doomed young women in 1940s Los Angeles: Elizabeth Short, otherwise known as the Black Dahlia, victim of a long-unsolved and particularly brutal murder, and her roommate Norma Jeane Baker, soon to become Marilyn Monroe. Whether exploring the psychological compulsion of the wife of a well-to-do businessman who is ravished by, and elopes with, a lover who is not what he seems, or the uneasily duplicitous relationships between young women and their parents, Black Dahlia & White Rose explores the compelling intertwining of dread and desire, the psychic pull and trauma of domestic life, and resonates at every turn with Oates's mordant humor and her trenchant observation. 1. This is my inspirational true story of childhood sexual abuse that I endured. The abuse was a secret, even to me, due to the fact that all the painful images were locked up in my subconscious for close to 37 years. Growing up I felt broken and different from everyone around me. At an early age I experienced fear, anxiety, major depression, suicidal thoughts, multiple personalities, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and PTSD. Why did I have all these problems? I was a woman on a healing mission! I kept following the clues, and one day all the memories slowly revealed themselves to me, and the dark mystery became clear in my mind. I have carefully detailed all the healing tools and the steps that I took to unlock the trauma. I will also tell you how my broken heart was healed. I was extremely careful in writing my story as to not negatively impact you, the listener, in any way. This is my story of immense brokenness, followed by triumphant healing. My book will give you hope and a plan of action. Did you know that one out of three women and one out of five men are sexually abused before they are 18 years old? This sick behavior has to stop! Also, did you know there are close to 100 different negative after-effects that can grip the victims of sexual abuse? Learn what they are and let me teach you how to begin the healing process. Abuse is all around us and innocent people are being hurt. I choose to share my story with as many readers as possible, to shine a light on this dark despicable problem. I truly want to help people who are hurting and share the knowledge that I have been given. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Marilyn Elaine Lundberg.
